PrivateSoftcore 10-10-2009 06:30 AM

yes, 27

2 -- 9 -- 5 -- 13 -- 10 -- 19 -- 17

2+7 =9

5+8=13

10+9 = 19

17+10 = 27

Ja1son 10-10-2009 06:30 AM

7

7+3 = 10....10+6=16....16+12=28....28+24=52....52+48=100

The number subtracted halves each time

wow I feel like a retard this morning, I gotta quit with this test... I can't even get this :(

A 720 ml container holds a mixture of red, yellow, and white paint in a 5 : 3 : 12 ratio. How much more red paint than yellow is present in the mixture?

tried 100/5 = .05 then 100/3 = .03 then did .05 and .03 x 720ml to get the amount and it is not right

:disturbed:

i'd say 432

5+3+12=20 720/20=36ml per part 36*12=432ml

edit but i could be wrong though i havent done any serious math in 8 years :disturbed

Thank god I am not the only tard on here :luv:

choices are:

20ml
72ml
108ml
180ml
200ml

edit- you helped me solve it!

It is not 36*12 because first you have to find out red, then yellow, SO

36*5 (red) = 180
36*3 (yellow) = 108

180-108 = 72

:glenn:

thanks dude

A family is moving and has a number of electronic devices in the same packing crate. If all the devices beeped together at 3:00 pm, what time will it be when they all beep together next?

He was way off. I mean 432ml out of 720ml should of been a dead give away that wasnt even close to being right, when they just want the difference of the 2 small parts and you have that much greater 12x in there as well.

haha, he got me on the right track at least... man this questionnaire reminds me of the ASVAB :disturbed

According to an advertisement in an education publication, seven out of ten teachers choose Greenpoint Bank for all of their banking needs. If this statement is true, which of the following must also be true?

i dont think thats right, they dont add up to 720ml. my logic is flawed because the parts arent whole numbers they are/should be fractions. so the parts need to be converted to fractions and all of the parts need to add to 1. in the end the answer plus the parts of the other 2 colors should add up to 720ml.

so i wasn't even close.

It's right. 108+180+432=720. the question was asking for the DIFFERENCE between the red and yellow, so 180-108=72

you were right dude

:cool2:

36*12 = 432
36*5 = 180
36*3 = 108

432+180+108 = 720 FTMFW

Thats why I hate shiat like that. The math itself is usually no big deal, but those questions are more reading comprehension then math, making it BS to use in a math class. :biglaugh:

Waterboy 10-10-2009 07:10 AM

The number which best completes the sequence below is:
1 5 17 53 161 ?

:(

edit- it's 485.... last number x's + 2

That is my biggest problem... putting words/etc. to actual equations and problems to work out :(

That and number sequences get me as well, just posted a new one :(

Waterboy 10-10-2009 07:16 AM

damn they just keep getting harder :(

The number which best completes the sequence below is:
