Problem with starter - Mustang Forum

I have a 93 LX 5.0 coupe with an automatic trans. The starter gear stays engaged 10 to 15 seconds after car starts up. The gear isn't energized, it just doesn't let loose of the flex plate like its supposed to. I have replaced the starter with a new one, and still have the same problem. I have tried to shim the starter but problem still exists. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what will fix this problem. I have only had this problem for the past two days.
