Brake system upgrade for cheap??

Never really looked at upgrading the brake system, but I just noticed that most places are wanting $1200+ for a decent system.

Is there any smaller upgrades I could do over stock, without breaking the bank?

Its a 96 gt.

Junkyard Cobra swap?

Better rotors/pads and braided lines.

yes, get the PBR calipers that are meant for 99+ mustang GT's.
they have more surface area on the pad, which equates to better stopping. you might have to mod the caliper a tiny bit....which is basiically grinding a piece off the caliper so the bajo bolt/block fits nice and secure.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought of going the cobra route, but after doing some research, this appears to be the easiest and best bang for your buck. As also mentioned, there appears to be good reviews from people who simply upgrade their lines to braided SS.

Good idea would be to find some calipers (possibly rotors if they're in good condition) from a Cobra in a junkyard.
