Thinking of picking up an 05-09 GT.
What are the differences between those year cars?

Mechanically? Not a heck of a lot. I'd say if your leaning towards doing a weekend warrior build, get an 05-06, as the value would be cheaper.

I would highly suggest an 05 or 06 if you can find a reasonably low mileage one. Starting 07 they got tpms which makes it a complete pain in the cvnt to change wheels/tires from the stock sizes, especially if you like to rotate between summer tires and slicks regularily. Other than that the only real changes are in options, ie the glass roof of 09+ I believe, and also starting 07+ the faigs made 3:55 gears an option instead of standard, so if you get a 07+ you could end up with one with 3:31's. Not that it really matters cause you should throw some 4:10's or better in it anyway.
Also getting a 05-06 being the cheapest option would leave you the most left over for mods as well. ![]()

Cool! This thing would be my daily beater. Exhaust, lowering, wheels, tint...done.
I have the 88GT for fun! ![]()

Not very accurate. 05-08's had the butterflys in the intake plenum. The 09's did not. The 07+ had a stiffer chassis to support the GT500, where as the 05-06 did not. The pre 08's didnt have moleskin on the windows, dont know if this would be an issue but it scratches window tint. Theres probably more shiat, but i cant thinki of it off the top of my head.
