Can anyone help with a wood floor issue????

We took up our area rug and found this... now we can't get it out. We have tried water with vinegar, a steam cleaner ... nothing? Any ideas?????

you're fugged. discoloration is fading from UV rays. no way to get that out.

edit: n/m. i looked closer at the second pic and it looks like some kind of transfer maybe? the pattern looks like you had a sisal rug down, so it might still be UV discoloration. maybe try some:

we used some on our foyer and it looks brand new.

But it's opposite. It looks lighter/slightly scuffed where the rug was, not where the light was.

If its real wood, then sand it and refinish

I'm praying for an answer that won't cost a few thousand and 1 to 2 weeks out of the house

I got this stuff at walmart(for my wood laminate, not sure about other types of flooring), but it worked great for the same problem. And made it shiny.

I accidentally got that on my floor spraying a table and slid all over the place. Try that stuff and look at their website.

Been there, done that.

Get yourself a palm sander. Work the sander the same way you sanded the floors, initially. Use 2 levels of grit...a fine, then a super-fine. Apply the poly urethane with lambskin.

Good luck.

Actually, if its not that bad, I would start with the super-fine and then just apply some poly and see how it turns out.
