Do not use the orange glow, it will discolor your floors (ask me how I know).

If you don't know how they sanded the floors, it is always a safe bet to sand WITH THE GRAIN.

This is the only way to correct your problem, trust me. You will waste money and time using other products, that will potentially screw your floors up more.

I've had this problem, and corrected it. If you want to go about it your way, have fun.

ok so no glo... I'll take your word for it.

What grit sand paper? Do I just do the visible area or do I do each entire board to make it even? I guess I am taking the finish off??? How will I know when I have sanded enough?

use a liquid wax stripper, vinegar works, lay down three coats of liquid wax, rent a commercial buffer and buff it out.

do you think the orange glo might work?

Do not use that on floors!

It looks like there was some micro scratches from the rug moving on the floor. You can try to wax and polish with a buffer, other than that you may need to refinish.
