You still don't get it. Unlike the previous huge crash which was panic and loss due to uncertainty and the government putting their hands into all sorts of crap they should never have done. This crash was completely expected and even though the number is high, it will also go back up higher than ever.

Hell every time there is a "Correction" or "Recession" in the future, it will always be a new "The Biggest Ever!" because the markets and economy continue to grow after recovery to a even bigger level than it once was.

The only way that were going to have an actual economic collapse that puts it seriously below past levels will be from a Nuclear war or some other nation altering epidemic.

You guys have no idea what is going on.

This last bounce from down 450 to up 100. Look where the bounce was! It was on the 200 day moving average (S&P).

Has nothing to do with people pulling money out.

Technically he has one.

Someone became president that didn't instantly villanize success and nearly every CEO as he was one, so the market bet on the fact that he might not screw everyone with overregulation.

Turns out, they were right.

Hell I still feel the freaking Obama against "Private Planes for CEO's" war he started early on in his first term. The cost for me to fly doubled nearly instantly then, and has come down a little, but is still much higher than the years prior to him taking the reigns.

You don't know anymore of what's going on in the market than I do so don't pretend like you know what's going on either.
All I did was present a different view of some analyst that actually made some sense.
Is that what's happening? Who knows.
But I know you sure as **** don't know what's going on either.

Yes. Why would I sell UDOW now at a loss?

I picked up some SDOW to offset. Hoping it’ll move up a bit in the next couple weeks and I can dump it and move the proceeds into UDOW and leave it alone.

I also averaged down on UDOW a bit.

So you dont know what hedging is. I see.

I bought UDOW when the Dow was up. Why the fvck would I sell that now for a loss?

I picked up some SDOW to HEDGE against my losses is UDOW.

As I already explained.

With some luck I will be able to make some money off the SDOW in the interim.

uh, how about because you realize it was a stupid investment and it's smarter to put that money into something that will actually go up in value?

You familiar with the term 'cut your losses'? Do you know what 'opportunity cost' means? Do you understand that it's probably smarter to take a $10 loss so that you can reap a $100 upside?

Im not a day trader. I still plan to be long on UDOW. Im pretty comfortable with my position and its only a few bucks anyway.

Your roulette example is also a poor one since Id have to sell both simultaneously in order for that to apply.

I just hope Moose doesn't understand the stock market enough to know what you've done. He'll never let you live that one down.

It’ll be just fine. Again, I wasn’t going to ‘cut my losses’ on UDOW.

Did you get out?

No, I won't sell it without a profit.
I'll buy a little at every $10 drop. I bought more at $87 and I had a limit set to buy more at $77 today, but it didn't hit it.

Yea, thats my plan as well, and why I added some SDOW for the way down. I averaged down a little on UDOW too.

Maybe there is an arbitrage between UDOW and SDOW

Better yet maybe I can run a straddle on this

Ask Scud who he bet on in the Mayweather vs Mcgregor fight, and Scud says "both".

Sorry, dude, I couldn't resist.

Edit, that's actually a bad example, because in a fight they both don't have the same odds.
