My dad was in the hospital (Legal Advise)

So my dad was in a car accident thank god he is ok but the question is what happends now?

You see he was hit head on with a car that was involved in a police persuit my dad was taken to the emergency room and xrays were done to make sure he had no broken bones or internal damages. Everything checked out fine the only thing is he has a lot of chest pain, rib pain, leg pain and shoulder pain (most likely sorenes from the impact). He also found out that his truck was totalled in the accident. So what happends now?

(Just to let you guys know , my dad was at a red light and the car being chased tried going through oncoming traffic but apparently didn't see my dad there and hit him head on)

Criminals typically aren't rich. Can't squeeze blood from a rock. So unless he got hit by some drunk celebrity trying to avoid a DUI, I would guess he isn't going to walk away from this with any money in his pocket. In fact, I bet this ends up costing him in the end.

Hire a REALLY good lawyer and sue the Police department for an unsafe pursuit.

But you can sue the city and collect from them 100% of the settlement. Then have the city waste time and money trying to collect from the criminal

Peeps do it all the time

Unless they're insured.

Was the car that hit him a cop car or the car being chased?

Sounds like the car the cops were chasing.....which very well could have been stolen.

Sue the police department.

Their job is to protect the public, by chasing the car in question they caused bodily harm to your father.

Definately hire a lawyer. Besides this advice, dont listen to MW.

Oh, and make sure he sees a chiropractor...

Good luck, there is no reason why he should be at fault and someone should take care of him since he had no fault. Somebody is at fault.

I really hate that mentality. Its unfortunate that his father was injured and is obviously going to need to be compensated for his recovery expenses, but you can't create an environment where the police are too afraid of lawsuits to do their jobs. Next thing you know the cops will let the cars get away, in fear of a lawsuit and then they'll get sued for not pursuing the car. Get fvcked one way, get fvcked another.

Get a lawyer, go after the guy that hit you. Get a good lawyer, that way if the guy turns out to be some bum with no money, your lawyer can see what kind of financial ties he has to other family members/friends/etc. and can go after them for the money.

I've seen several cases like that around here. In every case the police either lost or settled out of court.
