Apple computer ****** or networking ******

i can't figure this out for the life of me!

i have all my computers set up with the same workgroup, and with a bunch of shared folders and crap. They all worked fine and dandy. I needed to bring my laptop on campus the other week and the school required me to register my computer to use the internet....fine I have done it before. but this time it asked to install a small file on my computer to make it safer on the network. i figured it just checked to make sure I had SP2 and antivirus or w/e.

I didn't notice it till now but, now every time I try to access one of my shared folders on my laptop (from another computer) instead of just going into the folder like always, it gives me a login pop up and the username is guest. I dont know the password (blank is not it).

Anyway I assume they did this so when you are connected at my school you cannot just roam through peoples shared folders.....anyway I can't figure out how to turn off this feature and just get it back the way I had it. I have simple file sharing on BTW.

Probably some sort of firewall. First check your XP firewall.

Yea ask the network people on campus. They can't just change your computer like that without telling you how to turn it off

If it was an ActiveX controller, you can uninstall it. Is this with IE or FF? It's pretty easy to do in either. IE7 lets you disable something then turn it back on later if you want.
