A few years back before the North had their Psyco Redux you could go visit the DMZ.. Something most people never noticed.. When they would change guards the Koreans would remove clip and eject round before handing over weapon. The Americans just hand it over...
The reason why? The Americans can not carry active rounds on patrol. They want to ensure if there is an accidental discharge that ignites a war its done by a Korean.
