fish peps

had a small 10g tank setup for the last 2 months. Right now we only have 2 small Black moors in there along with a dwarf frog. No problems as of yet, water stays nice and clean and filter runs good. Filter is a whisper filter with the interchangable white bag thingies. Well, saturday i bought a medium size goldfish (5" long). The water has been really cloudy since the new fish was added. So, yesterday we cleaned the entire tank out, gravel and filter. Added a small airtube with bubbles under the gravel and changed the filter. Well, the water is crystal clear but the filter is getting stopped up with slime, lots of it. It is basically over flowing where the pump goes into it because water cant flow thru the cartridge its so dirty. This is after one day and cleaning the tank. Well i changed the cartridge again and put a new one in yesterday night.. Its clogged again.

So. is it getting clogged up from adding the new fish or what? any other filter out there than can eliminate this?

cliff notes: read the damn thing or shut the fvck up

Imk pretty sure youre overstocked. a 5" goldfish alone would be pushing it in a 10 gallon tank

If you did that you could put all kinds of fish in it.

But right now youre overstocked and the fish will soon start to die from poor water conditions.

Get a bigger tank holmes... Not enough water volume to keep on top of your water conditions on a daily basis. The fish waste and amount of food that you have to feed them is just going to keep clouding up your water and causing your water quality to decline.

And I wouldn't suggest putting a 55g. on top of an entertainment center

Temp doesnt mean sh*t really. Since you tested the water post the params foolio.

What are your readings for Nitrates, Nitrites, and Ammonia

If you are reading any Nitrites or Ammonia you are over stocked. and you shouldnt let the Nitrates get higher than 20.

Even though the water looks clear, it can still be poor water for fish to live in
