cholesterol test says my triglycerides are high-- the recommendations suck
All my other shiat was fine. But, everything they say to limit is what makes the world a better place. Bastids!
ELIMINATE or LIMIT ALL sugars such as, concentrated sweets, sugar, honey, molasses, jams, jellies, candies, pies, cakes, cookies, candy, doughnuts, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sweetened gelatine. Eliminate or limit as much as you can alcohol, such as beer, wine, hard liquor, liqueurs as well as other foods, like sweetened cereals, flavored yogurts, and sports or energy bars.Cut down on red meat, especially fried, changing it to broiled or roasted poultry (turkey, chicken), preferably free-range. Add more dark green leafy vegetables.

A good cardiovascular workout 3 - 4 times a week will do wonders to lower it.

But Honey is the only food that never goes bad.
Its funny when health freaks die from weird heart attacks and such while appearing to be at the most healthy point of their lives. Others who eat whatever but keep it all in moderation live for many many years... As long as your not 300+lbs and need the doorways greased to get through Id think your ok lol.

Agreed.T Many of those so called health nuts fall under the fallacy that BC they exercise and eat good food, it excuses them for taking proper supplements, or most importantly, Anti oxidants. |

Yes. I feel its better to eat a little of everything instead of cutting stuff out of the diet. Just know what to eat more of then others and limit the intake of the real bad (but sooo good) stuff. (While also getting out and doing something physical)

definitely moderation
i'll have fast food no more than a couple of times a month but like i said, i was in the same boat, and when my doctor kept stessing me about my triglycerides and stuff, of course i cut back the first few months and fell off the wagon but did i feel better, nope what I learned is it's all about moderation, sure go out and eat, just don't eat "a lot" of somethings or just one thing, you need to give your body all the nutrients it needs and that requires a variety of foods if you start cutting back, you might be cutting back an important nutrient i don't drink, nor do I smoke, i'm not the skinniest guy, nor am I the fattest, but considering everything else, my cholesterol and my heart have always been great, I don't have high blood pressure and that suprises a lot of people, just cause i'm not lean and slim like an athlete, that doesn't mean my health is crap, but it also helps to have good genes, those healthnuts, they are probably that way because someone in their family died of a heart attack, stroke, cancer, etc. so they are paranoid and use that paranoia to influence their friends and family. be healthy, but not psychotically healthy |
