heh, def offset the good aspects of this trip. Left Diego to do another out and back to Afghanistan. No one bothered to tell us that we actually werent coming back to diego untill we got to the jet. So here I am with a crew from another base, one of our planes that isnt going all the way home any time soon, etc not going back to diego with a day off then back home for me like scheduled. Had a nice 26hr day going from diego to couple stops in afghanistan to germany. We get to germany and those guys pretty much refused to let me jump on another one of our planes that was headed home the next day. To top that off, they had some big stuff going on there and had no rooms on base or within an hour of the base. So here I am spending hours trying to work a ride home and a place to stay after already having had a 26hr flying day. After biatching a lot and finding the right people to complain to, they magically come up with a room on base for me to stay, but still no ride home. So I get to my room and still spend another couple hours trying to get myself a ride home where I finally come across the crew that was taking the plane I wanted to go back on and hooked up with them. Alert for that mission was only 3hrs later, at which point I had another nice 16hr flying day getting back here. What a pain in the fvckin ass. I was supposed to be sitting on the beach this morning for a little while after a decent night's sleep and leaving diego about a couple hours ago.


Plus side, I made it literally around the world on this trip. Lot of flying though. Just over 100hrs in the air over the last couple weeks.

Part of it is. Work hard play hard. It's time to sit on the beach when it's there after a 20+hr day in the combat zone. Not spending hours trying to get on a ride they are denying me which I had every right to be on and should take no more then 5 mins to work my way onto then fighting tooth and nail for a freekin bed after a 26hr day, then another decently long day a few hours later going home.

Well look at it this way. according to Einsteins proven theory of time dialation, time actually passes slower for a fast moving object. You're spending all that time flying at high speed and actually aging slower than all of us stuck here on the ground.
