Thumbs down just lost the brakes on my car  (rant warning)

i'm seriously getting tired of this fvcking thing.
So i'm driving to work, doing about 60mph or so on a back road (50 speed limit), as i'm approaching a stop sign for a major intersection i apply the brakes, to my surprise the pedal goes right to the floor and i see a huge cloud of smoke pour from under the hood.
I still had a little room so i just start dropping gears, as soon as i got slow enough ripped up on the ebrake and dropped it into first gear. I'd say if it took me another 2 feet to stop i would have been Tboned by a dump truck.
I was about a mile from my job, so i just put my hazzards on and drove to work (downshifting and using ebrake to stop, never going over 20mph). From what it looks like, the line going from the master cyinder to the line lock is leacking at the fitting to the linelock, gonna have to look into it a bit more, but i'm pretty sure thats what it is.
Just pisses me the fvck off, first i have a tie rod break off, then the clutch cable, and now this.
I'm seriously contemplating parting the car out, putting it back to stock, and the money i get for it, with the 4 grand that i just sold my bike for, and gonna put it down on a black on black 05 Caddy CTS-V we have on the show room

cliff notes: lost brakes, almost got tboned by dump truck

Did you seal the lines when you installed the line lock?

That's not the car's fault. You really should give up working on your own car. It's not meant to be.

Just think, if you had never installed the line lock OR installed it correctly, your brakes never would have failed you.

And "losing" a tie rod is a lack of maintanence issue. You didn't look/care/notice that it was worn out.

You want to kill yourself or your friends, go for it. Just don't take any inocent people with you when you go.

everytime you're under your car, changing oil or whatever, grab your tie rods and give them a shake. If you have up & down movement in the tie rod end, replace it.

They get really, really loose before they finally come apart. 1/2" or more slop.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to start doing that.

He had a bump steer kit on it, and the top nut was loose for a period of time, causing the failure

You don't need brakes, they'll just slow you down.

hey a$$hole, lack of maintanence issue? it was a steeda tie rod end that snapped, how is that my fault? As far as the line lock, yes it was installed properly, it's been used for 100+ track burnouts over 2 years. I pulled the line yesterday and it bursted, yes, the steal line cracked.

so before you start judging people why don't you ask some questions first
