Ambulance crews and tow trucks are on the scene of a collision that has closed multiple lanes of westbound Interstate 580 just west of North Livermore Avenue, the Highway Patrol said.
The 5:47 a.m. crash involved a pickup truck and a big rig, which overturned in the highway's No. 2 and 3 lanes, police said.

About 10 gallons of the truck's 55-gallon diesel fuel tank spilled in the roadway. The Highway Patrol issued a Sig-alert at 5:56 a.m.

No alternate route suggestions have been issued yet, a CHP officer said. Drivers planning to use I-580 should delay travel or avoid the area altogether.

It was nuts. 580 was at a stand still, Old Altamonte Pass Rd. was backed up for miles...We just laughed at them as we passed them on the train.

Oh and Alfdog, :cookie: this

K thanks for your input. This happened in a mountain pass. There was no where to turn around. People had to stay put. Not too mention it took up 3 of 4 lanes.
