So yes in this day of great fuel economy, what about safety? What about the kids? The chinese brilliance bs6 seems to have us covered. By covered I mean, in the event of a brisk headwind wind there is a great chance that both yout legs will be crushed and the airbags will deploy. Why does this have airbags anyways? ![]() Horrifying doesn't quite capture it ![]() Click the link for a video of the gong show and some other pictures..

I read the article about that in Auto Motor und Sport after the ADAC did that test, and the German government along with some other European governments want to forbid the Chinese cars from being imported into Europe until the Chinese know how to make safe cars.
They interviewed one of the main importers and he claimed that it was a one time fluke, and that the actual cars will be a lot better. ![]()

And that looks like a full frontal crash test. I would imagine the Insurance test (Corner hit) would place the drivers legs somewhere in the trunk.

Laugh now, Chinese cars are going to develop quicker and faster than the Japanese and Koreans.

While I think they will get better, I see them having a LOT more problems in the process. Being in a oppressed communist country is going to be a major roadblock for them to overcome. Ever see any decent cars come out of Russia? ![]()

Well, it garnished 1 star, although, for crash-testing I think you get a ½ star if you can physically depart the vehicle (re: self-ejection) prior to impact.

Whoa, that is only 40mph to.
I have hit a dead stopped Dodge cargo van at 50mph and the damage was not near that. (92 Dodge Colt) (Brake line blew BTW and it was an auto and I was a total driving newb then.) Reference 92 Colt ![]() What I hit So my piece of sh1t colt slamming into a van @50 mph did far far less damage than that much larger "luxury" car. ![]() Last edited by deadman1515 : 06-22-2007 at 08:15 AM. |

I'm sure you would be quick to defend it if it were a Chrysler product.

Coming from someone who by most estimations is as intelligent as a retarded GOAT, that means alot. Make up all you want. Fact is Chrysler IS working with Chery on a small car, and I've gone on record saying that it troubles me for the reason that chinese cars are dicey at best - so they'll need to keep a close eye on it from their end rather than blindly letting the chinese go with it.

Easily the gayest thing I have ever read. How can you defend a rolling deathtrap? That car is so dangerous I wouldn't even advise a well used douchebag like yourself to ride in it.

Not necesarrily. the Korean and Japanese markets needed the US and Europe to hit the large sales numbers needed to invest in making better cars. The Chinese have a market all to their own in China, and since the gov controls everything including this companies horrid cars and has no problems with it, I don't see them having a need to get alot better in a short time unless they need to market outside the country. I will tell you this. It iwll be very difficult for a Chinese company to have a high auto sales in America right away. most of our stuff is made there already, but there is something that people have to trust or believe in when it comes to cars and there is a stigma still there. |
