Full Metal Jacket or Jacob's Ladder?

Please help me decide which movie to see tonight.

I've seen Jacob's Ladder, but I was young enough that saying I've seen it is pretty untruthful. I have not seen FMJ, and have been scared to as I usually hate Kubrick (with the only exceptions being Dr Strangelove and The Shining).

After watching a Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut and 2001 in the same year....I had to take a little over a decade off before I'd dare watch another Kubrick film.

Man those movies sucked.

What's wrong with Kubrick?

Check out Paths of Glory sometime.

Hmm...I guess it's too hard to actually think about a Kubrick movie and the symbolism being presented.

2001 is one of my favorite movies and even I can't sit through the last half hour of it.

Jacob's Ladder totally has the Silent Hill thing going for me (the game's said to be based off it a lot)...which really interests me.

I mean, I will end up watching both, it's just a matter of which is now and which is later.

I didn't care for Clockwork Orange.

Check out Paths of Glory. It was one of his earlier films set in WW1. No wierd symbolism, just a good story and a very well photographed movie.

The one thing I do like about Kubrick films are the sets, use of shadow and lighting and how the movie is filmed. Just a lot of interesting shots and angles.
