the new google maps street view.....where you can acutally go to a "street view" of the map you are looking at.....those are the cars that take the pics.

i rode around in one of those with my buddy who works for google. the ones in those pics dont have the camera or GPS units mounted on them though.

I know what it is but I thought they used those vans with cameras and all kinds of other shiat on them.

i saw a pic posted on boingboing not too long ago that has like 16 nikon dslr's on the roof. it was insane.

think they had vans but these are the new cars they just got. the cameras and shat isn't mounted yet

I read that they've spent approximately 25 billion so far on the "streetview" project, although the figure sounds more accurate for google maps and the related apps as a whole.

If I weren't so lazy i'd dig through their 10-k and 10-q's.

I wouldnt mind that job. Get paid to just drive around. Except if it was below $15hr. Heck it should be 20+ for their profits this year.
