whitewater rafting on the kern river in CA...
wow...definitely the most fun you can have with your clothes on! went with the family this past weekend and had a blast!!!
my brother and i are the only ones who have never been whitewater rafting before so i was not really sure what to expect...i can't wait to get out there and do it again... the river was pretty low this year they were saying as they only got 13% of their average snowfall in the mountains...it was only running at 620cfs (cubic feet per second) and the river was about 6' low...last year they were running 7,000cfs which i could only imagine was ****ing nuts! there was only one point i thought i may fall out of the boat, but other than that i was pretty confident we would be safe...1 of the other boats did tip and a girl on another raft did pop out in a rapid but she managed to grab the rope around the raft and not get away from the boat...there were plenty of times we were in still water where we could hop out of the boat and float beside it and cool off which i did a few times...also, there was a point where all the boats went to shore and we did some cliff jumping which was fun also, even though those cliffs look a lot smaller from the water and then you get up there and it is a little higher than you expected haha...

dude kern river rafting is really fun!
Its suppossed to be the most dangerous river west of the mississippi though. What level did you go on? 3.5/4? Higher? Kern is awesome for rafting and camping dude. I absolutely love it up there. Best part is if you get bored drive down to lake isabella 15 mins away and rent a jetski.

we went on a half day on the lower kern...class 3 and 4, mostly 4's though...it was a fvcking blast, can't wait to get back out there... kernville is a pretty cool little town, atleast they had a brewery there! yeah they said they lost 11 people in the river last year and 5 of them were never found...but that is all from the idiots out there trying to do it in their own boats and not using life jackets
