I would go with an e55 for the supercharged goodness...



for brand new I would go BMW v10, mind you the ,ercedes 63 is a mean machine..

I hate daimler though..

I wish the V10 or E63 was in the budget, but not happening just yet...

that is fair, you're doing well either way..

both cars would be more than satisfying to drive but I'd take the torque and power of the e55 if you can swing it.... daily drive street fun IMO would be maximized... if you're tracking it , you know that MIGHT be a different story..



again keep in mind I HATE daimler..

yup M5 is probably a better handler.

But after riding in that renntech car. holy ****. 306 km/h and thing was still pulling.

And its quiet refined and you'd never see it coming

Have read any articles comparing the two? It's nowhere close. The M5 slaughters the AMG in every review I've ever seen. It's so lopsided that it'd be closer to compare the E55 to a 540i.

Personally, I think the Mercedes looks better. I really wanted to get the Benz, but I talked to the used luxury car dealers. They were unbias about which one I bought because they had tons of each (5s and Es) for me to choose from. Every last person I spoke too told me to get the 5series if I cared anything about handling and performance. I even put it to a vote here on MW, and everyone said the same thing.

The BMW is a driver's car. While the Mercedes has great stats, it's like wearing a condom because you can't feel a thing. That's fine for the typical guy wanting a E or S class that feels like your floating on a cloud. But if that's the case just get an E320 and save the cash. If you want performance go with the BMW. And if you've got the funds, go with the M5.

edit: ogc- yes Renntech changes everything (but so can Dinan). What I wrote above was considering stock for stock. You're right about some of those Renntech cars >*
