Friend and colleague was murdered this morning.
 Sergeant Ron Harrison of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. I worked with him on several occasions at DUI Checkpoints. He was the very definition of a good guy and a class act. I remember one time a deputy, for whatever reason, squeezed his half full cup of coffee, and the coffee splashed all over Sgt. Harrison's uniform shirt (they wear white). The deputy was mortified. Harrison glared at him and started laughing saying something like "ah don't sweat it, kid". He organized and was in command of the DUI section and Operation 3D checkpoints. This is a real loss. This sucks. We need more good cops in this state, not less (and not more powertripping rednecks, as are becoming prevalent in Brevard.)
Sucks that a good one got taken out for stupid reasons. I've determined that a sure-fire way to end your life within 24 hours in FL is to kill a cop. Seriously, the constitution is out the window and the police go hunting.
