Made the mistake of trying to reach out to someone...
So, every friday, my team and I either go out to lunch as a group or we have a huge pot luck. As a gesture, I sometimes ask the HR manger if she would like to join us because she usually eats lunch alone. Today, as usual, she declines and we went out to eat. We took a two hour lunch and when we get back, there's an e-mail from the HR department. The HR manager tries to politely remind me that lunch is only for an hour and that we break that time limit every friday. She cc's my boss, the CFO, not knowing that the CFO went to lunch with us. In the politest terms possible, I gently remind her that my crew and I regularly do 2-3 hours of OT each and every day and sometimes we come in on the weekends to finish our work. Needless to say, today is the last time I ever ask the HR manager to lunch...

We had one here like that too. Ironically, HR is the only department that doesn't work over time so they have no idea the extra hours we put in. I politely try to remind her that we are mature enough to manage ourselves, yet the emails still come.

HR is one interesting place to work. Took a class on it last semester (requirement) and the lady that teaches is has been in it for over 40 years..... Now she talks and talks and talks about it forever off topic how great and wonderfull it is. In my eyes HR is important but the job itself is so much a babysitter type design that it is really a joke. Especially now in the US where we cant do anything that might offend or upset somebody else.
