Remember when I said the Saints looked

In midseason form... 5 weeks ago in training camp.. We weren't bull****tin...

I LOVE how aggresive Sean Payton is as a signal caller... As long as you have a coach willing to do what he does... the sky is the limit... This offense has done what it's done over the last few PRESEASON games. WITHOUT their starting Wide outs. Colston and Henderson.
The Saints had 479 yards of total offense. 197 yards rushing..

Breese was 17-19. through two games that's 23 for 25 and two of those passes were dropped...

Pierre Thomas, (Illinios) scat back was 11-90 rushing..
Bush 6-51 rushing..

Lance Moore 6-88 yards receiving..

And it's just preseason..

HORRIBLE SAINTS D held the Chefs to 153 TOTAL yards.

David Patten said without a doubt this team can win superbowls. He said the only difference between Brees and Brady is championships. And he's right. And this team is ready to make a name for itself. Don't have too much to say other than I am very impressed. I saw very little that I didn't like. We'll leave it at that....

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- With one preseason game to go, Drew Brees was already showing off his Pro Bowl form.

The same cannot be said of the Kansas City Chiefs, whose murky quarterback picture was only muddied further Thursday night as Brodie Croyle struggled and a nearly perfect Brees led the New Orleans Saints to a dominating 30-7 victory.

Playing in all but one series in the first half, Brees hit 17 of 19 passes against the first-team defense for 182 yards and one touchdown. One of his passes was a beauty of a downfield dart that David Patten dropped. His quarterback rating when he retired for the night was 124.1 -- a sharp contrast to the 15.1 of Croyle.

The second-year pro, battling veteran Damon Huard for the starting job, was only 5-for-17 for 45 yards. Hurried and harried by a New Orleans defense that frequently beat the Chiefs' offensive line, Croyle was also sacked twice and threw his third interception in three outings. This game was viewed as a golden opportunity for him to wrest the job away from Huard, who was held out with a sore calf.

But instead of seizing his chance, Croyle seemed to help make the case for Huard, a 34-year-old career backup who played well last year when Trent Green was injured.

In three preseason games, the Chiefs (0-3) have scored only 29 points. The defense has scored eight.

Pierre Thomas, a free agent rookie out of Illinois who came into the game deep on the depth chart, scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns for the Saints on runs of six and 19 yards against the Chiefs' reserves and could have made a good case for himself to win a job.

Brees, a flawless 6-for-6 for 55 yards in his only offensive drive in last week's 27-19 victory over Cincinnati, hit his first five on this hot, sticky night. In both of their first two possessions the Saints drove nearly to the goal line, but were stopped.

Making a bold case to possibly unseat Devery Henderson for the No. 2 wide receiver spot was Patten. Despite his drop in the first quarter of a perfectly thrown long pass, the 11-year veteran wound up catching six passes for 75 yards and one touchdown. His 33-yard gainer gave the Saints a first-and-goal on the 5 on their first possession.

But on fourth-and-goal from the 1, Deuce McAllister was thrown for a 2-yard loss by Tank Tyler and Tamba Hali.

Reggie Bush rushed for 51 yards on six carries, including a 12-yard scamper on the second possession that was capped by the first of Olindo Mare's three field goals, 28-yarder.

Bush got loose around end for a 24-yard gain to help set up Mare's 31-yard field goal and a 6-0 lead with 6:37 left in the half. Mare was 3-for-3 with a 44-yarder in the second half for a 16-0 lead.

Brees led the Saints on a six-play, 45-yard drive late in the half capped by Patten's 4-yard touchdown catch when he got wide open in the back of the end zone.

Dwayne Bowe, the Chiefs' first-round pick last year, made his first professional catch. But he also dropped a well thrown ball near the goal line in the fourth quarter, giving the crowd even more reason to boo at the end of the lackluster outing.

Marcus O'Keith scored the Chiefs' touchdown on a 2-yard run with 1:53 left.

Comments from Chiefs fans..

Some of these are funny

the last one is my fav..

well, we got a few first downs, but it sounds like Croyle doesn't have much pass protection...but no major blunders, and Bowe popped his cherry.

If Will Smith were abusing Svitek any more, Roger Goodell would have to tell him to stay away from camp.

I bet we'd at least have a TD if Croyle's blindside weren't "protected" by Mr. Happy Feet.

Saints' number 44 put up the block and bush was gone.

Look on the bright side were going to have Martys offense without Martys Defense...wait theres no bright side to that!

We have a field goal defense to go with our field goal offense.

i hate Drew Brees thank got hes not a charger anymore

schooled, worked, played, bent over......Brees has kicked our *** all night

and yes I know, it's the preseason, it's the saints offense, but still..Cover a guy damnit.

The good news about a really bad offense is that your defense ranks much higher by default because opponents rarely have to push it too hard to keep up.

How come our WRs can't get that wide open???

our wrs are always covered
theirs are always open

Earlier today I foolishly reminded my buddy the Saints fan about this game....

our starting ol can't open holes against the saints second team

Maybe this is all part of Herm's plan to fool the NFL and make them think we have no O. He is just waiting for the Texans.

The Saints are just plain more creative on offense.

They are like the 03' Chiefs and we are like the 93' Chiefs.

two score game folks!
By my math, it's a 6 score game...3 * 6 = 18

This just in... Reggie Bush is good... and the Sainst are good too...

I remember this game. I saw it in the pre-season in 1990 or maybe 91, KC lost 30-0

BOOO!! I want the last 3 hours of my life back.

There is a difference between losing and getting killed. I don't know if I could handle losing week after week like we have tonight. I don't really want an offense as bad as the 2006 Raiders.

The best part of the pre-season game on Thursday?

The food.

The Chiefs played the Saints and there isn't a lot of good that came from it. I am really searching for anything the offense did well and I am coming up short.

Nothing...and let me tell you I am a creative person. I can shine a positive light and put a nice spin on everything but the Chiefs offense against the Saints.

When Croyle dropped back he was sacked. If we wasn't sacked he was pressured. If he wasn't pressured he threw a bad pass. If he didn't throw a bad pass it was dropped. And if his good pass wasn't dropped? The play was called back for holding.

Read that paragraph again. None of it is made up or dramatic thats how it went down.

The Chiefs defense? Meh. They did some decent work. The Saints were finding a lot of soft spots in their mid range pass coverage. The run defense was quite good overall, there were a few times where they were burned to the outside. Allen needs to remember to keep containment. The inside run defense was really impressive, Tank Tyler had a great game. The Saints were driving the ball quite well but the starting defense really stood tall with their backs to the end zone and kept them out for a while.

There were a lot of points where I found myself less mad at our defense and more impressed with their offense. They had an amazing rhythm and a quick strike style that was getting good yards in chunks. At points the Chiefs would defend as well as the rules allowed and they would still make a great throw and catch in a very small amount of time. This Saints team is going to hurt people.
