I'll play. Typically when a corporate company is forced to start dramatically cutting labor to meet budget outlines you should be one of the ones that takes the severance package they offer and start looking for something a little more stable. Leave on your own terms.

It has everything to do with it. He was perhaps a little more crude in saying what you should have done. However with them creating a substantial increase in your work load, it is not unexpected for you to ask for a increase in wages. They eliminated 3 positions that saves them roughly $100,000 a year, your not asking for all that money, just a small percentage of it. Have some balls and ask, what are they going to say no. They wont fire you for it (if they do you're better off anyway).

Try about 150-175K a year. But knowing what I know about this company and how it works. Its not the right time to be asking for anything. I wouldnt ask my boss to bring in doughnuts, much less give me a raise.

I am however getting a lap top so I can take my work home. And my boss is asking about me getting paid for the OT I work now. Im salary so I dont get OT pay, but since I took on this work he is gonna try to get it approved.


I figure thats at least a start.

A start, but that is just to placate you for a while. Eventually you get better where you don't need the OT to complete projects and you are back to your regular pay, doing the extra work. If you don't get better, they will start to question why you haven't improved.
