The rear subframe bushing. Itís not available from Infiniti separately, but is aftermarket. We put subframes in left and right under warranty, and would put press an aftermarket bushing in on the ones out of warranty.

Or in the case of a trans "code is for shift point sensor" and JLR has them replace the entire trans? That isn't how that works.

They don't call it the stealership for nothing
Not true really. A service department sells hours. It would much rather have a 14hr trans rebuild than a 5hr R&R. They literally wouldnít pay a $6,000 warranty claim if I went thru a trans under warranty, but will pay the $18k claim as thatís what weíre instructed to do by engineering.

In the case of the bushing as previously talked about, it would be way cheaper for Infiniti to just offer the bushing separately. They donít, so they say put a rear subframe in it. Itís got nothing to do with a service department. If we donít follow the guidelines, warranty doesnít pay. If I did timing chains on a QX80 and a high pressure fuel line wasnít charged out on the repair order because they claim itís one time use only, the whole claim bounces. Weíre forced to go by their FSM and guidelines.

So what you're saying is that MW motivated you to take more care in what you do and had a hand in fixing your house?

Sounds like a solid 'win/win' in the MW scorebox

That's hardly just an LR issue though. Infiniti tried to gouge me to the tune of $600 for new brake pads. They also routinely want to charge me $150 to change both the engine and cabin air filters.

They won't pay you the hours to rebuild a trans because it's too specialized a thing for some guy of questionable ability to rebuild. That and they also don't stock the parts. Plus after paying 6k to rebuild it they'd have to stand behind it which they obviously wouldn't. This all assumes the trans catastrophically failed, which is rarely the case. A sensor gone wrong they'd replace and JLR def stocks all that OEM stuff as I'm sure you're well aware at this point. If it is indeed really broken that sux but good hours for u

As for that bushing that's silly on infinitis part and I stand corrected

I'm starting to think DaChosen1's car was built out of 2 wrecked cars. They cut the front off one and the back off the other then sewed them together.

Also will your dealer do trans service there? About a year ago I popped in to get the trans flushed/filter changed. Nothing was wrong with the car but it was due and I will not touch transmissions myself beyond exterior issues. I sit down with the service guy and hands me this estimate for $22,000 "sir the trans is sealed for life, if something is wrong with it, it needs replacement."

Independent did it for $800 stealerz, there is even a service procedure for it and I know LR stocks the filter/gasket

100% but by the time I'm the one getting the obnoxious warranty repair estimate for free that ship has long since sailed.

And lets be honest, even if this whole warranty racket vanished over night, it'd be for fvcking ever before car prices dropped if at all.

Especially for luxury bullsh!t brands where they can charge as much as they do for basically no good reason.
