Lightbulb In and Out (burger) store managers make $160k per year...

http://abc7.com/2988740/

You ever go to in and out burger and wonder why the people working there seem... uh... well.. not typically the type that should be working at a fast food place... ?

Check what their starting wages are also..

These are misleading as they don't include discretionary bonuses

Yeah, you're actually right for once!

I stand corrected. Crazy, that much money for managing a stupid fast food joint. Imagine what DC1 would buy if he worked at in n out.

Had In and Out for the first time a couple months ago. Place sucked. It's straight up fast food. Wendy's is better. I thought it was supposed to be more on par with the slightly better than fast food places like 5 Guys or Shake Shack, but it's definitely way below those places. Don't get the hype at all.

I'm laughing at the 180k number.

Took me a long time to get to 180, but once I reached it I quickly doubled it. Geometric growth > *

The key word in all this however is "any experience" (which was also mentioned in the news article)

Which could mean a 14 day fry cook who temporarily took the helm of an MCD for a less than a day when his boss had to take off early

he / she could walk into an in-and-out and bullshiit his / her way into a six figure job

key word there is "bullshiit his way into"

edit: and thats actually not a thats a if someone could pull that off... "just give me a chance, I'll boost sales and efficiency %15, you just watch"... then rides the random market adjustment to greatness....

Some companies still pay well and hire within. A friend didn't work in high school, and upon graduation got a job at a local grocery store, Publix. It's a chain of classy, clean, customer service focused stores. Think of the opposite of Walmart. Anyway, they start off higher than other places, but require you to work hard, be friendly, etc. Think Chick-fil-a actually. He's been there about 8-10 years and is now an assistant store manager and makes over 75K plus bonuses. I know he was at 75K before the promotion from department manager to assistant store manager.

Even self proclaimed geniuses can be wrong sometimes..... And it doesn't really matter, no one believes his babble anyhow.

You are nuts. Shake shack (at least out west) is garbage. Five guys is similar but I prefer in n out. Smash burger is pretty tits too #fatass

I like In and Out and there is always a line around the store, but I have to get it animal style, what ever the hell that means.

We just got them a couple of years ago and I went and it was meh at best. Co-worker told me I was doing it wrong, needed to order Animal style and now I really like it. I prefer 5 guys fries over In and Out though.

You could do this with any job, it's not hard to fudge a resume, and gt an interview. I would think that BSing through the interview well enough to get the job would be difficult without actually having the experience.

If they can do it and succeed, more power to them. I didn't BS the interview, but I did come into my career with very little experience, and my boss-to-be knew it. I was knowingly given a short period of time to ramp or GTFO. Almost 10 years later and I'm doing just fine. Result would have been the same had I felt the need to lie may way in.
