Only ate 1 or two meals I would consider good in mainland Italy. The food didn't really get consistently good until we went to Sicily.

Didn't really matter what it was, even something as simple as a spaghetti bolognese or a penne alla vodka was actually good in Sicily. In mainland most of it was kind of bland Though a place that was incredible in Florence was Buca Mario
