I was so disturbed by how easy it was to make 1100 whp on a Coyote engine that I started shopping for crate motors. Do they have forged internals? How do they not blow up?

I'm gonna build one and put it in a Faux Cobra

Theres a difference between doing it once and doing it reliably. There are LOTS of them living at around 1k hp.. but there is some risk there and guys have split some motors.. rods can let go, or the block itself can split...

Think kinda where you were at in the fox body years at 500 hp.. it's probably going to be fine but it might not lol.

Lund Racing who is probably the #1 ford tuner said they are comfortable at ~800 rwhp with liability.. ie: they expect it to not blow up. Assuming its a 2015+ mustang motor..

The 11-14 motors and truck motors dont hold quite as much.

1.) you're never doing that 2.) if by some remote chance you did, that car would be wrapped around a tree inside 15 min.

As I understand it the coyote engine does have some forged internals (specifics I don't know) just because they make that type of HP doesn't mean it'll last. That said it is a newer motor, improved cooling, fuel management, flow etc makes a big difference over previous mustang engines. Plus turbos are just better at peek numbers/efficiency than superchargers.

1. Probably not in real life, but can you imagine
2. Wouldn't punch it so no concern about tree wrappage
3. Ive seen a few 800hp coyotes on the youtubes with those hellion TT kits. Surprised they haven't grenaded
