Blown-out spark-plug hole is a mess

Hi all.

Years ago a spark plug blew out of my '96 Cobra, and the dealer repaired it with (reportedly) a helicoil.

Now (perhaps 10 years later), that cylinder is misfiring. I've replaced the plug wires, and in doing so I noticed that the spark-plug boot doesn't insert all the way on the repaired cylinder. I suspect that the repair is somehow failing, which is apparently not uncommon.

I got a cheap borescope so I could take a look in there, and this is what I see:

Clearly the repaired hole looks like a mess, and there's that mysterious fragmentary shape at the 3:00-4:00 position.

I was thinking of getting the oversized TimeSert repair kit and going at this thing, but upon seeing this mess I don't even know what's going on in there. Anybody have any opinions?

Thanks.
