Question Hypothetical- here and now: If you had a million in cash in your possession, would

you go out and buy a 100k vehicle?

WMY need not respond.

Maybe.....Maybe a 200k vehicle and invest the rest or upgrade the house..

Already have nice vehicles though. COVID has us rethinking our vehicle needs...

I have an itch for a sports car. A new 911 Turbo S would work..

Whatís the end game?

Nate asked several times too. If you donít treat yourself whatís the point? Is there a larger goal in sight before wasting on material things?

The end game is what brings you the most joy.
It might be as simple as a 100k invested or even sitting in a bank brings more joy than 100k sitting in the garage, eventually being a burden that you want to sell.

Nope. I have more than that and 50k is about my most expensive car so far.

I'm keeping an eye on 997.2 4S used sales as a toy car, but they are really hard to find.

Where is the poll?

No. I do not doubt that I would spend some, but most would get thrown into investments.

I guess I'll be the first to bite, I've already been looking in that range for my next ride, and would go ahead and fully option a new AMG S63 coupe to well above $200k.

Most I've spent on a used baller is 55k. I would talk about and threaten to buy a Lambo or Ferrari but just ended up saving it for my kids' houses and/or give it away to family.

I have enough to buy several used Ferrari F12 Berlinettas

Nothing bad happens if you buy it. If you're financially responsible then it means you hardly ever splurge. The problem is when people spend a lot too often and have no discipline.

Buy the car knowing you won't splurge for another few years you'll be fine, bruh

Money is just a tool, you acquired it for a reason.

Security. I can retire wherever and whenever I want. Something bad happens at work? Who cares? Stress is non-existent. You will never know true freedom until you are independently wealthy.

Secondly, the more shiit you have, the more headaches it causes. I pretty much don't own anything that I really care about. I could walk away from all my possessions and not bat an eye.

If anyone, no matter the financial well being, spends more than say 40-50 grand on a car, they are basically retarded.

Please, your rants are tiring. Every time you've called me out I've posted proof and then you act like its part of some grand trickery on your part. I know it tears you up that your Glassdoor.com research was a bust. If you were as loaded as you claimed, you wouldn't get your panties so bunched up about someone else's income.

his end game is a PS5 and unlimited free visits to Olive Garden. I think he secretly is trolling us on all that.

Don't even start with the disrespect. Do you know how hard it is to get the car running just right with two rescue cats. and having to move because CA is on fire... for like 20 years now. You gotta have priorities... What's wrong with you people...

I can understand all of that.

Your philosophy just doesnít seem consistent. You spent 100k on landscaping. Whatís the difference?

If youíre all about being secure and just sitting on a nest egg with minimal stuff why draw the line a fun car? Do you consider the pool and landscaping a sound investment? Falls into the same category as a vehicle IMO.

Wife wanted the pool and landscaping. I was fine leaving it a dirt lot. In fact, I hate the pool. I never use it, but it's a constant source of work.

I got the fun/fast car thing out of my system in my 20s, and have never been into cars to impress other people, like as a symbol of success. Don't you have multiple houses and do well? What car would you get that you can't get now?

Not going to lie, I misread this as if you came into a million in cash.

But to your questions, I do well but am not rich. I do not keep a million in cash (liquid) and the thought of that amount of money not invested or otherwise utilized seems foolish. At a high enough wealth I understand it would become a rounding error, but I am not nearly at that level.
