fuel gauge is out on 2005

First the fuel gauge was showing that it was beyond empty. The needle fell well past the "E", well beyond anywhere it's ever gone before. But the trip computer said there were still 100mi left.

Then when I filled up the tank, the needle showed it was way beyond full. The needle was completely horizontal (well beyond where it usually goes).

Since the computer is still calculating distance till empty, I figure it's something up in the dash, not in the tank. But I didn't know if it was the gauge, a wire, the needle, or the whole cluster?

Anyone else have a problem with this? Or have any suggestions on how to fix?

It's a common problem. Mine sometimes says ety when it's not. I found this TSB:
06-10-13 MIL P0463 OR ERRATIC FUEL GAUGE Here's a link.

There may be more tsb related. I'd ask the service department.
