Most of you know my 92 LX was stolen & stripped in 2004. It has sat dormant over 7 years until now. Restoration will begin next weekend by George from GB Performance.

A few pictures. Found about 40 lbs of sand in the factory carpeting. took over an hour of high psi compressed air, brushing, shampooing and a shop vac.

Gutting commences!

Found a take out 8.8 rear end, getting axle tubes welded, and stripped down. 31spl axles, gears, differential, Steeda 5 Link II, along with UPR torque box reinforcement kit and battery box are in house!

Paint schedule delay, but got inbound parts from Baer Brakes and Kicker audio.

Per request updated pics. Engine bay stripped, interior panels removed, and final steps prior to bodywork and paint. We determined a new windshield was in order, so that will be done t the body shop.
All trim pieces will be refinished in the appropriate black, with proper paint that Ford should have done for longevity. New refurbished quarter glass and trim is at the ready once she comes back.
Got some more parts goodies in from Baer brakes and Kicker audio, so stay tuned

Well they work for rolling lol. There are just the SN-95 5 lug spindles, no rotors on their now so they fit fine.

Car went to the bodyshop last week. A few more tweaks

Most every LX bumper I've seen has waves in the lower opening. See here

Hard to tell from the lighting, but GEO fabricated metal plates to flatten out
the ripples. No more issues.

Donathen Racing front bumper will be replacing the heavy stock front bumper

Crafted up heater block off plates

Fender opening for wiring was opened further, for more clearance and future fuel system.

About time to see some of the goodies we will be installing

Rounding out the suspension, we have Steeda aluminum CC plates, 5 Link II
400 lb rear springs, & billet swaybar mounts. Billet Weightjacker LCA's are in place now.
An Eaton 31spl posi with Superior axles and 3:55 gears will be going into the rear end.

Brembo 4 piston clampers will be squeezing Baer 13" 2 piece rotors.

The 2 piece design saves a few pounds of rotational weight!

UPR Battery relocation kit, On/Off switch, 'Battle Box' UCA & LCA boxes, & urethane motor mounts

Yes, real car and real air conditioning. All new system for beating the Florida heat.

When rowing gears, you got to have the proper tunes, so we worked together with Kicker audio to package a complete system for the LX Hatch.
All components, amp, sub & required accesories. An Alpine head unit will command the sounds.

Removing all panels for proper prep

The Scot Rod Fab firewall cover is being updated to cover the wiper motor hole. We decided Rain X and the go pedal will work just fine

Bumper covers & wing off

Red, Whte, and perhaps blue hood for patriotism ?

Since were on a diet, off comes the stock bumper mount, & on goes the racing lightweight mount. Goodbye to 25lbs or so of nose weight.

She's coming back to life!

The body shop work has been progressing quickly. I'm relieved and excited at the mindset of these guys. Being on the same page while undertaking this kind of project makes me sleep better

We decided to pull out the stiff springs, to allow an easier work angle on the front end.

Factory antenna hole was blocked off, with welded plate underneath, and smoothed.

Here you can see the painstaking work of welding, sanding, grinding and filling holes & rough areas of the engine bay.

Upper radiator support is also getting cleaned up

Work on the drivers side, and fender. You would not believe the amount of ripples & dents along the tops of the fenders. NOTE never lean over your Fox fenders without thick blankets.

Rear quarter panels getting smoothed. Also rolled the fender lips properly

Drivers door needed extensive work. Thieves bent up the bottom panel, and busted out the lockset. all new tumblers for doors & trunk
