out of the choices given though, mud is the best fit. the relation between stone and river, and sand and mud is water. sand and water doesnt make mud though. soil and water make mud. The rest of those choices have no relation.

how is that? where is the relation between the 2? there is none. Sand is smaller pebbles. a river isnt smaller rocks

I think you are missing the whole division/separation. It's not stone is to pebbles is to sand is to river. It's 2 completely separate but similar comparisons, for example jelly is to peanut butter as ketchup is to french fries. They are both condiments to their respective food, but the 2 food items have nothing to do with each other.

Only thing similar in this one is water. Rocks are found in rivers, pebbles are found in mud. Both rivers and mud have water.

you think you are so smart right now c17, but what you are saying really doesn't make any more or less sense than other peoples relationship thought processes

You can say that stones are ground away by rivers, and pebbles are ground away by sand. There's a bajillion stupid connections that don't make sense

mud and clay both have dirt, but not necessarily pebbles.

sand is probably the best answer here.

but sand doesnt always have pebbles, and rivers dont always have rocks. But mud always contains water which to me is the link. Thats why I said stream up at that top, as it would of been a much more simple and correct answer. But since there are no good choices up there, you kinda have to look into it more.
