After having owned both

I can definitely say that flowmasters>magnaflows.

I just spent 12 hours* putting on an offroad X and magnaflows only to be kinda disappointed with how quiet it is. it still sounds good, but not nearly as nice as my o/r x + flowmasters setup that i had on my last stang.

at least it's better than the piece of crap the mexican who owned it before me had on. No connection in the middle (looked like this l l ), mac cats, the smallest flowmasters i have ever seen (seriously like 6 inches big), and magnaflow tips It sounded like absolutely crap and was louder than a jet

*Did it on my driveway with two jackstands, a reciprocating saw with the wrong blade, at least 5 trips to pepboys or the hardware store, ill fitting pieces (pypes is cheap for a reason i think), and all by myself. so cut me a break on doing it in 12. oh yeah, i'm not a mechanic either

i love flowmasters. i have 2 40 series mufflers on now, and i have a brand new set of super 40 stainless steel cat back sitting in the basement waiting to go on, and it'll be coupled to a set of longtubes and a matching h-pipe.

i'm just nervous about the pypes h-pipe. i've heard a few horror stories about it, but all from the same guy. i really need to stick with stainless steel, and they're the only ones that will fit an automatic.

there is a member on corral that has the pypes longtubes that also got their h-pipe, and apparently they designed the pipe backwards. they reversed the pipes that go to the cat-back, so you have to flip the pipe when installing it, meaning the O2 sensors face the ground. that part isn't an issue for me, because i don't need rear O2's, but he also had issues getting it to line up, and finally had a muffler shop just make him a custom H-pipe.

An o/r x with a chambered muffler? Didn't that sound really raspy?

i think he's talking about the flowmasters. yeah they were raspy, but they weren't obnoxiously raspy, they sounded ridiculously good and now i somewhat regret get the magnaflows they just aren't as loud

I must be an old man, but I prefer Magnaflows over anything else. I can't stand how loud my car is with chambered mufflers. I'm switching to Magnaflow very soon.

About 5 years ago I bought an engine off of Myslow. I did all kinds of work to my mustang. I took his full advice on an entire setup including LT's. Here is what he recommended. This was absolutely the best sounding exhaust I have ever had. BBK LT's, DR Gas X, Magnaflow CB

When I swapped the solid axle in my cobra I had about a 2 week wait for my catback. I ran Bassani Dumps and I absolutely hated them. The sound was weird and I hated not having tail pipes.
