Sky miles becoming more strict?

Any of you guys notice using sky miles for free flights has become a lot more restrictive?

The only way I would see them being more restrictive is that the airlines are offering more miles up thus people having more miles thus with the economy more people are trying to use up their miles instead of paying full price thus Demand > supply. I kinda stole all that from a NYTimes article from a few days ago.

Yeah I use continental for mine. I noticed on my last couple trips that they were blocking certain direct flights that I used to have no problems booking and also chargine a $75 fee if the flight that was being booked was within 21 days.
