Fox Restoration project
This is our current shop project, which will be here over the next 6-8 weeks. He is the 2nd owner of this 87 coupe.. Went over the proposal with the customer, and Phase 1 will consist of:
Complete interior overhaul with new custom racing seats with custom relocation brackets, and full color change to black. Exterior restoration, with new headlights, tailights, complete molding and weatherstrip replacement. New quarter glass assemblies & windshield. Cowl hood, and Canary yellow pearl paint. 17" Chrome Pony wheels. TMS Stage I suspension pack. Complete drivetrain overhaul. Full exhaust upgrade. Re-vamped air conditioning and engine cooling system. N/A 302 based mild buildup. A few shots as she came to us, in stock form. Check out the stock mufflers and years of road grime and oil ! This past Saturday consisted of engine & trans removal, & interior tear down. Engine was so greasy we pressure washed most everything to make it easier to work on.

The engine bay re vamp was in our original proposal, along with other reccomendations. Customer had to trim back on $, but he just re-canted and bumped up a bit more funds, so it may pan out. I hope, BC our tech has the great expertise in all of that, and we'd rather address it while at paint.
Jim, I have my original Fox (or what I'd call what was left ) That, along with bins of parts and boxes upon boxes of new parts await when $ and time allow for the ressurection.

That will be nice when it's done. I've got a 1988 4 cylinder LX that my folks gave me for my 18th birthday (which was a looong time ago) that I would like to do a 100% original restoration on someday.

I didn't realize you still have it...awesome! I may need to hit you up for a left LX tail lens. I bought some replacement lenses and the left side fits like crap!! I have even tried a heat gun to get them to "mold" to the original casing...no bueno...

*UPDATE*
Car is still at paint, but we take into account these kind of delays. That being said we did a bit of work with the shortblock. New FRPP shortblock New timing Chain & Oil pump New timing cover, water pump, and a bit of paint ![]() Nothing earthshattering, but in stock trim the customer felt the car was fairly quick. Additionally, the 1st phase of the build dictated a bit of funds in other directions. Still , it will be a nice improvement over where it started from.

Cool. A Bright Chrome Yellow from the 94 would work good. I can't wait to see this thing come together. Long Live the Fox.

Yeah, smoke gray should be the color. My wife had titanium in her GT and hers were definitely a lighter gray than mine. I'd love to see what you can find... If worse comes to worse, then I'll purchase the kit and just sell the rears. It just aggravates me because everything else is pretty much new (carpet, headliner, etc.) and these front seats that don't look so hot..

I understand why they don't sell just front seats, but it doesn't make sense for the people with a rear seat delete. The new fabric is different from the original fabric. The new stuff is like the traditional tweed rather than what Ford used, so if you replace just the fronts and leave the rear original, they won't match. Only offering them in sets helps keep people from complaining I guess.
![]() I asked the same when I wanted to buy replacements for my fronts and that was the reasoning I received.

Granted, I'm not a huge fan of yellow...but that shade isn't too bad. Is that the same that was on the Cobras??
10 holes FTW!!!!
