When you cut your wrists, how long does it take to bleed out?

Just curious. I know certain arterial lacerations will have you bleed out in mere seconds, but would think slicing the veins in your wrists would take awhile.

It all depends on the length, location and depth of the cut. If the slit cuts open the artery then the person could die within 15 minutes, but the blood would clot if the person wasn't lying in a bath or laying their wrists in water.

Not really. Thought about the scene in The Rules of Attraction where the bitch does it in the tub. I just figured unless you went real deep to hit the artery, it'd take awhile.

Screw marathons, I'm going to start focusing on ultras. Asked the wife for this for x-mas. I just hope they have wheelchair divisions.

In your case, 5 or 6 days.
