engine stalling

ok. i recently did the 4.3 stroker build on my 99. it started great and runs down the road perfect. however when i come to a stop after the car has warmed up the idle will start out high around 1400 rpm. after about 10 seconds it will drop down but initailly it will try to drop below its normal idle all the way down to 300 or 400. sometimes it catches its self and smooths out and idles just fine. other times it will stall out completly. anyone know what could be causing this? thanks for your help
