Probably won't be waiting up all night for it, but do plan on picking up a physical copy tomorrow.

More than likely I'll do my typical barbarian/fighter type class. I've tried casters, but just can't do it. Hulk smash is my style.

Same here, although I really liked how the witch doctor looked.

I have a hockey game at midnight, I'll probably start playing after the game, and then continue all day tomorrow.

I haven't decided what to play, I enjoyed all the classes during the beta.

so my googling says it releases at 11p GMT tonight...does that mean it'd be available this afternoon/eve in the US? Or are local servers not going up til midnight?

If you haven't tried to launch it in a while and you have a digital copy, do so soon and again before launch. Just to make sure you patch up and hopefully dodge some of the bandwidth bottleneck...

I'm going to get it installed today and start playing tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide between Barbarian and Witch Doctor. I hate how the Witch Doctor looks but really like playing them.

Yea, Al posted that earlier in another thread:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/5338...-5_7_2012#blog

most important:

Quote:
Create Your BattleTag™
We expect that on launch night both the game service and website will be under very heavy strain due to the immense number of people excited to be among the first playing Diablo III. With that in mind, we highly recommend you create your BattleTag now, as it’s required to play Diablo III. Please keep in mind that this non-unique nickname is a permanent choice, and will display both in-game and on the website, so be sure to choose one you like! (What is a BattleTag?)

Quote:
Early Install
We will be unlocking the game's installer at 8:01 a.m. PDT on May 14. This will allow you to begin installing the game, troubleshoot any issues you run into, download and install the launch day 1.0.1 patch, and be ready to play as soon as the servers come online.

Might not matter much. Unbalance that the players find that the devs couldn't (inevitible) will likely be addressed via nerfs/buffs. I think you're safe just playing what you want. Of course, there will probably be elements of classes being good at this, but not at that (also may be paper/rock/scissors), and those pieces who knows. May also be some difficulty-to-play aspect... To me, it seems barbarian is your easy class, and witch hunter looks to take much more skill.

you must have never played wow im not too worried about pvp as that is skill and group composition based anyways, i just dont want to play a class where levling through the game is painful

I dont think so...im pretty sure PvE wise, most are geared to clear. Pickup what looks fun..

Heres my opinion (From a Lore view

-Barbarian: Smashy face guy, with glowy weapons...i think while sure their magic, that takes away from the brute for aspect. Also this 'Morph' option looks pretty cool and might be OP/countered in PvP.

-Demon Hunter: New Aged sniper? A little "too" much spellpower/magic pew pew abilities...aka little bit too much flashy, versus the standard amazon we saw in 2.

-Monk: Looks cool enough, a little ninja type guy...not much to say on him, enjoyed the melee aspect of him. Not sure id play him though.

-Mage/Wizard: Not much to say here, your staple Sorceror class with cool neat abilities if your a mage/wizard type person.

-Witch Doctor: Closest to the necro, but more 'unique.' I HATE being the wizard/mage guy...but honestly, this class looks cool (Refer to the Blizzard Youtube preview video(s).) Runing around using vodoo/shaman hex's, minions, & curses/plagues. A dark wizard/mage.

I'm gonna go monk and then a witch doctor (2nd roll) or vice versa... I love playing a necro in guild wars.. the minions are awesome.. if that translates to diablo III then gonna have fun with the witchdoc as well.

I installed the game and clicked play and was like DOH they messed up... it's live now !.. then got the login screen

The only thing I saw them say about the grind was that most people will feel compelled to go heavy AOE skills due to the mobs in the game. They said people who do that too heavily are basically going to get fvcked up because you need to have some single target dmg to survive. They did make it sound like every class had those options though.

No, never played WoW...

the most fun i ever had playing wow (aside from being an ******* ganking people with a rogue) was as a mage back in the pom/pyro days flying above someone, jumping off the mount/slowfall and going fireblast/pom/pyro and killing them back when bodies didnt fall to the ground was epically funny

there was always one stupidly over powered class or combination of classes, and every time they tried to 'balance' the game it would make something else ridiculous.. it was funny, and sad lol.

actually I thought about requesting that, but I have plans tomorrow night anyway, so its fortunately not that big of a deal.

I'd also rather have them ship me one as, if they're anything like comcast, the local shops love to dole out broken equipment that was turned in as dysfunctional by other customers.

I generally do melee/tank characters. I want to try something else this time. Thinking Monk.
