unlike Waterboy, I <3 my UPS man

Came home the other day trying to catch a package that I had to sign for (unwaivable shipper requirement). Barely missed it - but my UPS man left his cell # and a note saying he would be on his route for another hour and would re-deliver when I got home.

Was sitting at my desk at work just now and he came in with a delivery.

"hey, you have anything coming in at home today?"
"yup"

delivered

One time I was sitting watching TV when I see the big brown truck pull up and the driver gets out without a package. I walked over and opened the door as he was walking away after sticking one of those slips on my door. Never even knocked. Smh.

We used to have an awesome one here. During a period of steady deliveries and me being gone so much, I mentioned how I either just barely miss them if not straight up gone a lot of times, and how I tried calling the hub once to see if I could just have something in the system to end my deliveries there and simply go pick them up rather then waiting through missed attempts and stuff but they couldnt do it.

Same sort of thing, he gave me his # and told me what areas he is usually in what part of the day (basicly breaking down his route) and said just to call him when I have something on the truck and would swing by if he was near or tell me where to meet up with him to catch him elsewhere on the route if I know I wouldnt be around by the time he hits our neighborhood....and if he remembered when making the first missed attempt, would take it off the truck at the end of the day and leave it at the hub himself so I could go get it anytime after that vs waiting through 3 missed attempts first. He actually remembered and did just that most the time which made things so much easier. No more coming back to missed attempt, knowing I wouldnt be around the next couple days too, but had plenty of time to run up to the hub before they closed each day. 1 missed attempt and I could just go get it myself the next day if not that evening rather then wait 2 more days of the same before being able to do that.

As of a year or 2 ago a different person has the route now, with no such arrangement. I dont have stuff coming in as frequent at least tho, so havent tried.
