GT500 is an awesome car BUUUUT I have seen a stock 2008 ZO6 make an 11.06@125.66 pass.

I would still kill for a GT500 though.

Why would Chevy owners be on suicide watch? MW made it clear nearly 10 years ago that horsepower doesn't sell cars.

edit: his mph aren't too far off though. most likely his reaction time / launch.

Reaction time has nothing to do with ET's.

He's likely just getting a crappy 60'.

When mustangs start coming with price tags of 60,000... 70,000, even that new 200k Shelby.... It's time to graduate to a car that's actually good

One of the most attractive things about the mustang was bang for the buck, that's not the case anymore. I'd much rather sport a zo6, viper, etc etc etc at that price point regardless of how much power the stang is making... At a certain point you get diminishing returns when it comes to horsepower in a street car, while 600whp is neat, IMO it's not worth the giant price tag to get into a mustang

I suppose so... I thought it was cool in 1996 when i started using that name elsewhere and had my 96 gt. Didn't think out the fact that they might use a 4.6 liter for a few years...

Indeed, what are you seeing those most recent body style zo6's going for at auction... I'd take a use z over a new gt500 any day of the week... I'd actually take a slightly wreck z over a new gt500

Sure does... IMO, and maybe I'm bias... The last true performance mustang was the 03/04 cobra... at 36-40k (depending on options vert/sound/etc) it was still a good chunk of change as far as mustangs go, but the amount of performance you got per dollar was ridiculous compared to anything else out there. Then the gt500's came out, 50-60 + depending on dealers... If you're dropping that sort of change a mustang is a fvcking retarded decision unless ur uber rich and just want the thing as a novelty. The whole point of the mustang is to perform at a reasonable price, but the amount of money they're asking these days gets you into a car WAY nicer inside and out.
