My dad wants to buy a new Scion FR-S - Mustang Forum

Never been into cars. In fact he thought I was irresponsible when I was in high school for being into them. He works for Toyota so he can get a crazy discount. Dealership had 3 today but all were sold as soon as they hit the lot. He can't drive them. But he put his name down for the next one, a silver manual. I had never even heard of these cars. He told me he was interested in a scion and my first thought was why?? Then I googled it and was wowed. Turned out that was the concept. The production version is nothing like it but still not a bad looking car. Supposedly they drive like a dream. Was pretty Nice looking and more spacious than i expected. The interior feels modern but also kind of cheap. It doesn't even come with a radio. There's literally a hole in the dash. He's getting something Toyota or scion so to me this is better than a highlander or Camry..

The website shows that they come standard with a radio system

The interior is pretty nice. I kind of like how they made the automatic transmission shifter look like a manual gearbox shifter. The exterior, however, is a rolling abortion.

I've driven them... I think they look way better in person than the pictures and they really stand out when one comes down the highway... I'd take the manual too though the auto is dialed in... You really have to wring the engine to move out but it holds it's speed very well and is easy to kick out and power slide, I'd lease one if it had just a little extra room for me

This. Particularly now that competitors like the Hyundai genesis coupe makes 275hp in the base car. Scion/BRZ only makes about 150lb/ft, too.

That said, I liked the BRZ at our local autoshow. Thought it looked pretty sharp, and I like the idea of a smaller/lighter car for a change

I wouldn't be surprised if he could get a better deal on a 5.0 than he can on that non performance car.

Considering they are a toyota pretty damn nice I think. Look ok, rwd, etc. I had a 2001 celica gts. I wish that fvgger was rwd and had more power. Would have been a hella fun car.

Edit: Didn't realize it only came with 200hp 4 cylinder. I figured they woulda put something atleast 300hp in it. Ahh well would still be a fun little car to boot around in if one got it for cheap enough.
