Yep. All we need now is someone posting a series of unfunny pics and we're set.

Maybe b/c atheists actually read the bible and are knowledgeable about it and then decided it's not something they believe, as opposed to "real christians" who know really nothing about the religion and just blindly go through the motions b/c they were brought up that way and it's unacceptable to their peers if they don't!?

So? I understand how an internal combustion engine works, and I don't feel obligated to go around lecturing people on it.

But if millions of people who DIDNT understand how one worked went around lecturing people on how they worked (incorrectly of course!) you might feel the need to correct them.

If someone wants to preach to me, I will respond appropriately. But I do not start the discussion.

Actually, I sort of lied. Even when I identified myself as a Christian, this always bothered me. And it's a part of the reason I was non-denominational, and refused to be Catholic or Episcopalian like my family. I want to know what other Christians take is on it.

The catholic church is a business. Has been since the dark ages and the crusades. It is what is wrong with Christianity.

Real Christians are normal people, believe in God, believe in morals, raise their kids right. They don't fight with everyone, and several from my church spent 2 months in Haiti or other places every year building schools, houses, churches, taking food etc, instead of the opposite (collecting money).

Christians make me sick. Especially here in the bible belt where there are some fvcken huge, modern churches on prime real estate on every fvcken street. They have cops close the main street so the churchgoers can enter and exit easily. They don't do that shiat for schools. They pay no taxes and try to push their jesus faigotry onto tax paid schools. They also drive up property taxes since they don't pay any and claim acres of property. I also hate their fvcken holier than thou attitude while hatin on everyone else.

You don't need a belief in a god to do any of those things. Like the late Christopher Hitchens always asked, "Name a moral action undertaken by a believer, that you believe cannot be undertaken by a non-believer, or name a moral statement made by a believer, that you believe cannot be undertaken or made by a non-believer."

I didn't say you did. You can remove God from it and still do it. However, we were raised that Christ taught us to do this and it's part of why we do it. Would many of our church members do it anyway without God? I'm sure some of them would.

As far as the Benny Hinns, Jerry Falwells, and Bob Joneses... all the big power churches and crap. Can't stand that it.

It's them constantly trying to persuade others to think religion is dumb and complain about how they are always approached by bible thumpers to change their views. However, it's always the atheists talking about religion on here.
