Maybe they were doing 90 in a 35 or something

Either way, I guess that officer wasn't the right one to prank. I agree that it's stupid to fire them over this when they only get paid leave for things that deserve jail time.

pretty sure they were on the highway, and it sounded like the cop that pulled them over was laughing.

So were they, or were they not breaking the law?
I agree, losing your job is stupid... But these guys seemed like big enough losers in general, to have something like this warrant an excuse to send them packing.

Fvck em, many more LEO's looking for work who wouldn't waste another officers valuable time by pulling a stupid joke.

The article didn't say if the officer who stopped them worked on the same department they did, but seeing as how she didn't get out of her car running after the driver, I'm assuming she did. Also, Clermont is a very small PD. If these two worked for Clermont and the officer who stopped them worked for Lake Co. S.O., it's very likely they still would have recognized each other.

More than likely, a supervisor was randomly reviewing the DVD's submitted from the dash cameras and either stumbled upon this by chance, or the officers, having a laugh about it, told other cops and it got back to the bosses that way.
