Reset the TPS if adjust idle......................

my thread from the coral i asked about when would you have to reset the tps, under what circumstances. I had learned yrs and yrs ago to reset the idle using the screw on the throttle plate on outside of tb. Thats what one of my boys did so i thought it was right. Apparently it wasnt the correct way and just wondering about this way here and wanting to confirm if this is right or not:

he is saying the tps doesn't need to be reset. Car is idling fine and I was just going to idle down some and see how she sounds. I didnt want to have to mess with resetting the tps if i did though. Last time i reset my idle i did the idle set procedure which included resetting tps but like i said i always used the other screw to adjust my idle. Would both ways work?

You need to unplug the IAC then start the car, turn the screw until the idle is at 550 rpm. turn off the car and plug the IAC back in, if the IAC is working properly, when you restart the car it should idle between 800-900 rpm in park, neutral or with the clutch in. The stop is just to adjust the butterfly so that it doesn't close to a point where it becomes stuck or hung up.
yeah i just saw the screw on my car. One of my boys yrs ago did some work to my car and we idled car down using the screw in pic of my first post. He has had mustangs but always fox's. So if I idle it down to 550 and when plug back in IAC it doesn't go to 800-900 i guess I just need to go ahead and idle it back up.

If I want an idle of around 700 then I need to do as you said but instead of 550 then idle lower? I guess idling lower than 550 it might wana cut off so i just have to keep running via the throttle
