Anyone tried the Tovala smart oven?

Anyone try the Tovala smart oven and meal service? Starting to value my time a lot more and with a busy household getting tired of planning meals, grocery shopping, prepping meals, cooking and then cleaning up. I've tried the meal delivery services like HomeChef but even with them some of the meal preps still take 30 minutes and then cleaning. Last thing I want to do after a long day and don't want to poison my body with fast food.

Tovala is a mini smart oven that bakes, broils and steams. Select your fresh uncooked meals, meals get delivered, scan the QR code on the meal and your dinner get cooked perfectly. The few people I've talked to said they all taste chef quality and the reviews online are mostly 5 stars Would be nice to use this service as a filler along with some bbq grille meals other nights.

Do you enjoy airplane food? And by airplane food I don't mean 1st class meals. I'm talking about cattle car.

That's basically what this is.....or just save a bunch of money and buy microwave dinners.

Most microwaved dinners taste better then airplane food Not sure how something fresh cooked in a smaller oven would taste like a frozen microwave dinner

So if you're really that lazy then buy a sh1tload of HungryMan and save the money. If you want to feel "like it's been prepared by a chef" then read the ingredients with their French pronunciations to sound fancy.

Airlines use much fancier ovens than this pile of sh1t.

http://beaerospace.com/products/gall...oven-products/

Most steam ovens worth a damn tend to be really expensive. This doesn't seem like one of those.

This uses all 3 cooking methods, convection bake, broil and steam which is programmed in for the specific meal. What airlines serve food with bake and broil to give a nice char?

AirFrance, Virgin Atlantic, and Lufthansa.

I'm sure more but those are just the ones I've used in the last year.

Really, just buy microwave meals if you want to be lazy. If you're lazy and stupid buy this.

I guess I won't bother. Not lazy and I'm a great cook, just getting tired of cooking. Seemed like a cool concept, just seeing if anyones tried it. I'd never buy microwaved meals

Yeah, or just get takeout from restaurants that don't suck. I don't understand why stupid ass millennials make everything so fvcking difficult/expensive.

So, let me get this straight. You are going to spend like $300 on this stupid oven and then pay around $12/each for 'meals'? ARE YOU FVCKING KIDDING ME? Just take that money and get takeout like a normal fvcking person.

Or you can learn how to cook. I made jerk fried rice last night and it took like 15 minutes. Pre-cooked rice from Trader Joe's - 3min in the microwave. Couple fish fillets from Trader Joe's - 6min to cook, throw the rice in a pan with some Grace's jerk seasoning paste and some fresh pre-cut broccoli (Trader Joe's), and that's done in 10min (done in parallel with the fish). Dump the rice in a bowl and put the fish on top. It's cheap, delicious, and fvcking easy.

This 'problem' was solved like 40 years ago, retard. Maybe get a brain tattooed in your head instead of fake hair. Jesus Christ.

WTF is wrong with people?

You can throw a bag of veggies in the microwave $1, lob the breast off a $4 deli counter roasted chicken and you got a decent meal for 4. Some of jew foolz make this eating thing a lot more complicated than it needs to be

Even tonight I'm making a bolognese sauce, it took about 3 min to throw $10 worth of shyt in the crock pot this morning. A 1$ box of pasta... Probably freeze most of it and get 10 meals out of it. How fvcking hard is that?

I cook a 5 star dinner same way. USDA Prime 45 day dry aged Rib Eye 3 mins per side. Roasted asparagus in oven 20 mins, mashed potatoes 20 mins. It's not about the $ or how easy it is cooking It's about the time for everything else

You don’t have 20 minutes + some prep and cleaning time to FEED yourself? Your wife can clean can’t she?

Maybe reevaluate your life and priorities.

He hadn’t listed a single barrier that doesn’t have an easy solution/work-around

Just buy lean cuisines and deal with the health problems later brah.

So she can't cook, she can't clean and she's a wild injun.

Does she get a large monthly check from the government because her ancestors couldn't develop writing, metal tools, or the wheel by the 1500s?

What everything else? Shopping? Buy in bulk dry goods/cans and freeze everything else. These packaged meals are a solution to a problem that straight up doesn't exist/user error. If you're going to bother cooking make a shytload of food and freeze it.

Instead of one chicken breast make a dozen of those shyts. A couple of weeks ago I marinated 1/3 in teriyaki, 1/3 in lemon pepper, 1/3 in Italian and cooked them all. I'm still eating those things Then when you're not feeling that some night make another awesome amount of food and save it

the before mentioned bolognese which I'll probably be eating randomly into next month

You live in vegas and have never heard of indian fry bread? It's sort of like a sopapilla, but much, much worse if you can actually believe it. Just envision huge masses of nasty, dense, thick, fried dough slathered with all manner of bullshiit (chocolate, powdered sugar, gross meats, etc). Nasty stuff, it tastes bad and is horrible for you...stay far away IMO.
