The Dyno
Brothers has a full dyno facility. We wanted to basline our completely factory stock 2000 Mustang GT before any mods. When we say completely stock, we mean the stang is in the same condition as when it left the showroom as far as drivetrain and engine mods. Stock air filter / silencer, everything bone stock.
Tim hooked up the stang to the dyno. Dyno's are of course a must to get the best tuning out of your stang with many mods like superchargers, heads, etc. For us we wanted a "factory stock" basline run to see what any mods we add later on do to the HP. There is plenty of room in the brothers lot to bring down your racer on a flatbed and get it dynoed.
Our 2000 GT project is an automatic, all factory stock. Our best run was 211HP and 249 Torque at the rear wheels. Which is normal for a factory stock AOD. This is not to say your Mustang will dyno exactly the same, there are slight differences between all cars. 5-speeds with a few simple mods like mufflers and pulleys have been at 235 and more. We'll see how the simple mods like cat-backs affect this number on our project now that we did get a totally factory stock base on our particular stang. Brothers
Performance & BBK... two different places Brothers Performance is a retail store open to the public selling everything from K&N, Trick flow, Moroso, Baer, Ford Racing, NOS and many more. BBK is a Manufacturer that creates and sells parts to distributors and retailers. Brothers Performance buys parts from BBK like everyone else. While some of the proprietors started out together, they have been two different companies for a while now.
We'd like to thank Tim, Shawn, Brian, Kenny and everyone at Brothers Performance for the tour. Don't miss some of their rides in our Select Stangs. For a free catalog from Brothers Performance visit their site below: That's it.. til next time.. see ya on the street !
