Select Stangs

Rick Collari's Mustangs

I special ordered the '95 GT in May 1995. I really wanted to get a new Mustang with the 5.0 V8, and 1995 would be the last year. It's Opal Frost with Opal Grey cloth interior. It has power driver's seat, rear window defogger, Mach-460 sound system, 17x8" wheels, performance axle ratio (3.08:1) with traction lock, and anti-lock brakes. I modified the car by adding a Cobra intake, 65mm throttle body, GT-40 cast iron cylinder heads, 1.70:1 roller rocker arms, 1-5/8" stainless steel tubular shorty headers, K&N Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit, and a Borla 2-1/2" stainless steel cat-back exhaust. Inside I added a Cobra leather parking brake handle, Cobra leather shifter boot and Momo leather shifter nob. Although some folks don't like the looks of the '95 taillamps, I like them. Plus, those Borla tailpipes make the rear view even better!

My '95 GT was featured in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Ford's "My Muscle Mustang" section back in 1997.

Check out my website at http://truebluegt.homestead.com/index.html It's still a work in progress.

My First Stang.. I bought the '93 LX 5.0 brand new in June 1993. It's a hatchback with 5-speed and 2.73:1 traction-lock rear axle, Royal Blue metallic with Opal Grey cloth interior, power driver's seat and premium stereo. I modified it by adding a Saleen strut tower brace, g-load brace and sub-frame connectors. Those chassis upgrades made a big difference in curbing the body flex notorious in hatchback Fox-body Mustangs. Despite my plans to keep this Mustang forever, the '93 LX 5.0 was stolen from right in front of my house in April 1995. When it was finally recovered 10 days later, there was nothing much left of it. The good news is that my insurance company (after some debate) gave me a great settlement -- just $300 less than the original purchase price -- and I used that money to special order a '95 Mustang GT 5.0!
