Moroso midnight madness
2002 Mustang GT from Steeda Autosports enhanced with the technology
transfer program went to the drag strip July 19th for Moroso's Midnight
Madness event. Scott Boda Steeda's Design Assistant and resident drag
race driver made several passes in 85° weather. This street car,
fully equipped with Steeda's handling package ran in the mid twelve's
all night long.
Moroso Motor Sports Park hosted the Midnight Madness drag event open to all classes on Friday night looking like a great opportunity to test the new Steeda Mustang, they went out for a test and tune session. In 105° weather during the day and what seemed to be 100% humidity the car ran a blistering 12.413 @ 112.14 in the quarter. Scott was very pleased with the cars performance and says with slicks and cooler weather the car would run in the 11-second range. "I was by far the fastest modular street Mustang out all night, I know if it had been cooler and we were running drag slicks I would have been in the 11's."
Steeda is very proud of the technology transfer program. With three runs ranging from 12.815 to 12.413 in the Florida heat the car is consistently pulling 12's and is 50 state street legal, we feel the program is a complete success. The technology program is available currently and later this summer Steeda is planning on releasing a turn-key model the Q400.
