Saleen 01S281 Conversion
A.K.A. - Art In Motion
Florence, KY

This is my 2001 Saleen S-281 Conversion. It started out as a Stock
GT with every option you could get on one except an automatic transmission.
This mustang has seen many changes in the past. At one time this pony
was built into a Steeda Mustang. I had always wanted to do a Saleen
conversion but never had the funds to purchase the OEM Saleen parts.
I thought, If I'm going to do it, I should do it right and use the
parts direct from Saleen, instead of using the knock off replica parts.
I also have the Stock Charcoal Leather Seats that I'm looking to sell
as well as all the stock body pieces, e-mail me for details.

To many to list.
Suspension -
Thanks to Steve, at Insano Customs, I was able to get the "Insano
drop" that I've been looking for without having to go with an
air bag setup. It took a lot of work, and keep in mind this is the
4th time its been lowered!
On the front, Steve had to modified the struts to increase suspension
travel, adjust the position of brake lines to allow clearance, reduced
overall height of Saleen Race Craft springs, as well as clearance
fender lip as necessary to prevent tire contact.
On the rear, he needed to trim the pinion bump stops, reduced height
of rear springs, shorter shocks to allow increased travel, modify
exhaust position to prevent axle from hitting, and clearance fender
lip as necessary to prevent tire contact.
Clear Headlights -
Thanks to Mustang World's Article on how to remove the turn signals
out of your stock headlights, Steve at Insano Customs was able to
perfect this modification.
